Mil-Surplus Non-Traditional Tripod Mount

As I get closer to the completion I am running out of patience for building a \'era correct\' tripod or carriage from scratch so here goes.  It\'s a mil-surplus 30 cal tripod with standard T&E and and brass adapter bracket. The Gatling Gun yoke is screwed to a small pintle mount and raised 4\" extension to get the crank up and out of the way.

Silver soldering the plates together, milled slots for the bend first and then bent the brass along the slot.

Gettin\' fancy with the brass shapes.

Side view. The T&E turnscrew raises and lowers the aimpoint, the sliding T&E moves the aim right-left. The brass bracket also pivots in the T&E as the turnscrew is used.

This is what keeps the hobby alive.
If we all do the same thing. We might as well just take pictures.
I really like your project. Keep us updated.

That\'s got a cool two-generations / post-apocalyptic vibe to it.

I\'m the type that will do something like that to get the thing shooting, then build the carriage later, so it works for me.

Your brass work is awsome! Adding the little curves to it adds to the beauty of the gun.

ima-usa has the 1919 tripod for $250, still might be too expensive for some. But I couldn\'t wait.

No T&E with that tripod price but they are on Ebay pretty cheap sometimes.
