I am approaching the point where I will complete the 2 wheels carriage. I am using Paul's plans plus photos of actual guns as a guide and it appears that the finish of choice is a dark green paint. Seems a shame to paint what is carefully selected oak lumber as defined on the print but I would like to achieve as close to actual finish as possible which appears to be the paint. Any of you guys that have reached and passed this built point have any suggestions? I was fortunate to buy a sufficient amount of brass stock to follow the print at the last Cabin Fever auction (January 2022) and intend o put a mirror finish on the wheel furniture.
