Wondering what kind of toolpaths you use for something like the little one and how many operations?      I gotta try something like that sometime for fun.

Sparky,

On this one I used a 1/4 square end to rough cut, then

a .187 ball mill for another rough cut leaving .02

Another rough cut with .093 ball leaving .003

finish with .063 ball.

A larger model will be much easier with larger tools

In my software the 3d cut is called a Planer cut

Cutting all surfaces or part of, that can be reached

by the specific tool called for from the top view.

Looks about the same as what Fusion 360 calls a parallel toolpath.

While I’m waiting for some brass to come in ,

Working on some templates for this crazy chair.

Scaled it down 30% from original size for a grandson.

I have a .DXF if someone wants it.

I finished the templates for the crazy chair, with drill bushings.

Setting that aside for awhile.

Time to cut some brass

Its some interesting machining going on.    Still.... I would rather see more posts relating to gatling guns.     Not complaining though..  the site was WAY too quiet for WAY too long.
