Got er' Done
« on: May 07, 2015, 02:00:42 PM »

Finally got this project finished.  This was made with a 19\" lathe and a small bench mill and a 6\" rotary table.  This was all made without the help of a CNC or even a DRO.  Made it the old fashioned way.  Even made the bolts 1 piece, using the rotary head.  I have 2 sons, so I may have to do another one just to keep peace in the family.  It has been quite a ride.

I just recently joined this forum and saw some of your build pictures and thought that is very very nice. Seeing the completed gun is even better, wow.

Thanks for posting them.

Thanks everyone for the great compliments.  They mean a lot.  I hope these pictures will encourage anyone doing the project to keep going because it is well worth the effort.  I have been a Machinist for 40 years up until my retirement and this is by far my proudest achievement.  I would tell my wife and kids what I did for a living and they kind of understood.  This displays what I did.   I hope that some day, some little boy will say my great great grandfather made this and it is mine.
