Did some fine tuning to the gun over the last week or so.    Went from 13.5 lb firing pin springs to 10lb springs.     Today was round two test firing.     Fired a bunch of 8 round bursts (limited by temp mag) without any issues.   The 10lb springs seem to dent the primers identical to the 13.5 lb springs.    The next step down is a 8lb spring but I feared they might not detonate reliably so I went with the 10lb ones.

Whats next?     Thinking the mounting yoke,  elevating screw and the bruce feed mag.   Probably the mag first,   I got it nailed down in Fusion 360 pretty good time to make chips.

Damn thing weighs about 70lbs now,   might have to consider a gas motor and steering wheel too.

This thing really BARKS,  and I am running light handloads.  Neighbors down the road were probably wondering if the revolution had begun.

Still jealous! Can’t wait to get that far. With that kind weight is there much for recoil?

I would say no recoil at all can be noticed.  The gun moves are a little from cranking but a lot of that is because my test stand is a 2x6 flat,     Of course there is recoil going on inside the gun,  backs of the bolts up against the recoil/cocking block,  both were made from 4140 prehard,   RC28-32.    Bolts are 3/4 diameter.

Realistically,  if you look at a small 357 revolver,  there is a hell of a lot more metal in that gatling to handle the recoil.

Got the yoke about 3/4 done. I had to get creative. The big brass donut I bought for it wasn\'t big enough on the OD. Will post a pic when its done.

Meanwhile... Bruski.... you doing anything with the .357? Project has gone real quiet. What about the other builders?

Sparky,

My mother-in-law just left last week after compiling a list of honey doooos with my wife. I have to finish up a few things first like the green house build that is only half done so far. Not to mention the kitchen sink drain stoppage that has a plug of hardened grease in it. I was thinking about using a charge of black powder to blow it out with. Any suggestions other than pouring boiling hot water down the pipe after it has flow to melt out the rest of it.

I made a spring loaded safety for the .22 model.

Probably use the same action for the .357

Does it just go thru the back plate, recoil plate, and then into the carrier block?

The safety only goes through the back plate with

a torsion spring connected inside.

Beware ! It only stops the cocking, there may be two

bolts already in the cocking ring.

I\'m still plugging away on mine. Just finished up the rear yoke. Came out better than I thought it would!

Got the tripod finished up.   Few cosmetic pieces needed yet but the end is in sight.    I have the bruce feed mag drawn up in fusion 360 and that will have to be made/tested soon.  I am going to do the bruce feed with 3 columns, 100 rounds is the goal.  I have a bit over a hundred rounds through the gun and it functions beautifully.

Got a little thimble piece to make for the elevating mechanism BUT my cnc lathe failed to home a few weeks ago when I was about to make it.   Turns out the index pulse on the encoder went bad.    The encoder was $348 from the original supplier but I found a identical one on aliexpress for $50 which I ordered.   It took 3 weeks from China but its all installed and the lathe is back in operation.    That thimble will probably be the next piece to make.

Been thinking about making one of those medallions discussed earlier in this thread.   New territory for me.

No progress here....   Started shooting IDPA matches back in October and been having a ball with that.     I have not been in the shop much at all lately.   Weather is getting colder now so I should be heading into the shop more before long.      Biggest remaining project is the bruce feed magazine.

That said.....   it seems all the other .357 builders have been very quiet for a long time.

I have been busy with honey do\'s and other things going on here. Good news though, the prostate problem has let up some. Now I can pee about every 3 or 4  hours instead of every 45 minutes like before.  :-P .

Any of you guys willing to share some prints of the bolts, carrier, cam ect...

I was going to start slowly collecting brass as it comes available if I can find a basis of a design to work off of.
