I cut the radius slot again, to 1/2” deep

an added the alignment hole. I getting it set up

on the yoke to make it easier to piddle with.

I hear ya there,   gun gets pretty heavy and hard to work on unless mounted.     I did it the classy way,  piece of 2x6 and some ply scraps, few drywall screws,  instant temporary stand.

Going to be interesting for you to weigh your gun soon,  those big honkin brass pieces really add up.    I\'ll bet you are far north of 60lbs already.

The Caps are almost complete, just hinge holes remaining.

So, hinges are next up, next week

Back on the 357 project after a detour working on the new bandsaw.     Finally made up a crank handle,  used some of that free 304 stainless, all the bitches about 304 are true.    I cut a taper for the handle on the new bandsaw.     Also got the detent for the cocking switch and a knob for it made up.       Had to fire one more empty brass w/live primer,  worked great.

Next I guess is to make up 5 more firing pin assemblies.    I held off until I got one tested.

I have been busy with a few other projects and my business suddenly picked up also. Don\'t forget my mother-in-law is still here visiting. It seems like I have been sharpening pruning shears and chainsaw blades about every other day now.

Finished up my firing pins today.   The gun is now firing on all 6 cylinders.      I tested the primer hits with empty cases with live primers.

No reason at this point that I couldn\'t fire live ammo.    Only thing is I don\'t have a magazine or a top cover to hold it.     I am getting nervous and jerky,  thinking of 3d printing a proto top cover and cutting a small test mag from aluminum.     I really want the bruce feed mag for the gun, it seems like the best all around choice for the most rounds held.

Eventually, I will need to make the yoke and a tripod of course.    Also a elevation wheel and screw.    I consider those things finishing touches,  the gun functioning before then.

Some grips for the yoke cap pins.

I’ll use quick release pins, ball on the diameter.

Do you think I could get some help with a cloaking device to hide the clutter in my shop?

How\'s that for a snappy comeback?

Empty work bench space is a very rare commodity around here. Thinking about making a second level too put stuff on or better yet, my mother-in-law is like a cleaning machine. Maybe we could bond a little more at the same time. :???:

Made some more progress, not setting any records.    I got a top cover made along with its hinge and a \"hood\" area open on the ejection side.    Need a cutout and \"block\" for holding the magazine,  scratching my head on that part.     Thinking of a simple test stick magazine that holds maybe 15 rounds or so BUT the final goal is a bruce feed magazine so the mag housing on the top cover should work with either.    Need to make a hold down latch for the top cover too, plan on using the D&E design there.

Hey Bruski,  have you got any dimensional data for your mag pocket on the top cover?    I\'d like to copy your bruce feed design if you care to share any info there.    I went and reviewed all your forum posts and pics on the bruce feed this morning, your progress looks fantastic.

Thanks !
