I guess we slowed down a bit. I have been working on the Bruce feed system for a while now. I used a piece of the largest diameter brass tubing that I could find and split it in two then pressed one piece to flatten it out some for a bigger diameter. This is for the base and the stick magazine along with the backing plate and bottom block are done for now.

My soldering isn\'t that great, but it should do the job for some testing real soon.

Looks great Bruski !       Is it supposed to switch rows automatically when one empties?

Sparky,

That is the plan any way. The double row magazine swings really easy like a pendulum as it is right now. I did not incorporate any spring loaded mechanism into any detents as the patent states because I think that would hinder its swinging. The spring loaded device, I think is for operation on un-even ground where the magazine would be tilted to one side or the other. My shooting range is level so we will see what happens.

I ordered some dowel pins for the positive ejection and drilled the pan holes already. I might have to make the pin grooves on the bolt bottoms a little wider for clearance. The pins are .062 diameter and the grooves are .093 wide which should work OK but Murphy\'s Law is always hiding some where near by to set me straight.

I am working on my pan right now. I am shamelessly copying Cutters build. (He knows). Since he’s taking a break does anyone how far the ejection pins are away from the edge? I found the dimensions and projection on here but not the location.

Thanks

I just put in my ejection pins yesterday.  I can tell you the dimension from the edge does depend on your cam profile and how far back the bolt goes into the carrier as well as the stroke of the bolt. .   My bolt face protrudes from the carrier .050 fully retracted.    Also, your extractor comes into play a little too.    I put my pins (.093 pins) at .253 from the edge to pin center.   They work but do not fully eject the round !!   They tip the round up maybe 60 degrees but do not flip them out !      Bottom line...  they should be further from the edge to eject fully, maybe another .100.     Problem is.... the pins have to be under the extractor when the bolt is fully retracted or they will interfere with the rounds dropping into place when feeding.    I let the pins protrude .060 which works fine.

So.....   the distance from the edge depends on other dimensions of your particular gun.    You have to make sure they don\'t interfere with feeding as well as eject properly.

(I am undecided on mine now,  I could move the pins forward a bit more or just put a \"finger\" on the top cover to finish up flipping them out.   Probably do the latter)

This happens on my model

The empty shells fall out after they clear

the chambers.

The cartridges, being heaver lay in until

they hit the pin.

The pin .094 ,  is .125 from front of bolt carrier

Thanks for the response Sparky. I figured that would be an issue but was hoping someone may have Cutters dimensions. Jerry thanks for all the help.

Well, it looks like I have too re-make those two bolts that were drilled slightly off center for the firing pins. Now they are starting to make lite firing pin strikes so I might as well get it over with now. I was hoping to do some test firing by now.

Mike,

Try to use a new split point short drill for your starter holes then deep drilling with a split point also with a lot of pecking and clearing of chips along the way.

When the time comes, how do you upload a video, I don\'t have any utube accounts or anything like that?

Thanks,

For pictures...   under the reply window, on the right,  click \"more reply options\"    at the bottom of that window you will see the \"attach files\" option.     Could be wrong but I don\'t think you can attach videos with that method,  videos have to be loaded on youtube and a link to it posted in your message.

Hope this helps some

George

Here is a fusion 360 rendering of my gun from its cad drawings.     Fusion renderings are pretty cool.   You can click the pic and pan around for closer looks.

I got the side frame rails made and cut the housing tube to length tonight.      Won\'t be long now and things will go round and round.

I am still with you guys, don\'t give up on me, just under the weather a little. I should be doing a test fire soon, but there is a gun show in town this week end and I shall follow through and check it out. It is my duty to do so. :-P

Thanks for the updates !       Its been very quiet here, I was wondering what folks are up to.      I got my frame rails made and the front cross piece, what a PITA !      Still have to see about welding in the front cross piece and making up the mainshaft.      Its looking like a gun more every day.

Bruski,  what did you end up doing about the problem with your bolts?       Any solution for material for your housing?
