Sparky,

If you decide to use the DOM tubing in the end, the PVC coupling would be perfect for practice.

I am hoping the PVC will workout ok.   Time will tell I guess.

Well here is what I have done so far on the Bruce feed swinging double row magazine. In order to load the magazine, there are round clearance holes towards the top just below the swing bearing. Each cartridge is placed in the grooves one at a time then slid down. I know this is not the fast way that Bruce wanted us to have but it is fast enough for me. Plus the rows hold more cartridges than his does so that kinda evens things out some.

What would be the best way to machine the rim clearance slot in the lower block? Please don\'t say a file, I was thinking more like a broach or something similar. There is not much material to be removed, but too much for a file.

That’s a small notch, could be broached using the quill

What you could do is take a high speed tool bit and silver solder into a round tool steel bar.  Grind the bit to be like a planer, or broachlike tool. Use this fabricated single point broach tool in a collet or end mill holder and shave out the material  with the z axis quill, manually of course.  If you have a wire edm or even a sinker edm that would work as well.

Thanks guys, I will try to make a broaching tool bit for the mill drill. How would I keep the spindle from wanting to rotate if it does while broaching?

I would make a change in the drawing of the double row slots. The slots should be closer together so the angled wedges can do there job better, or the bottom block needs to be wider than the magazine width so the wedges are more centered in the slots.

Appreciate it !     3-1/2 x 4 is the size I need.      I am going ahead right now with making the cams from PVC, remains to be seen how that material will work out.

Roller,

I wish that this mill drill had gears and a spindle lock option, but it is a Rong Fu from Enco.

Cutter,

Any progress on your 357 or are you waiting for material?

Sparky,

Your gat is looking great with the cam turning out really nice also. To give an idea of how much these guns are going to weigh, mine weighs in at nearly 60 pounds empty.
