Thanks Dave,
Yes, it really helps to see a scaled model of your ideas.
A lot easier to change a few entities , then making parts over.
Produce your G-code / cutter path with the model also.
I\'m going to make aluminum legs after drawing the model.
If you or another member needs a model, email me with a sketch.
It\'s only a hobby

I used 1\" square tubing for range legs.

I think my last item is a latch to lock down
the magazine / adapter.

Thanks Tim

I\'m a bit confused (nothing new!  LOL)    How did you get the round profile on the legs if you used inch square tubing for stock?

The tripod looks about identical to the one in the D&E plan set.   Is that the design you used, or something else

That just looks so cool. You have done some great work there.

Really like the Silver and Gold look.

Sparky,
The 1\" sq. tubing in the pictures back round is for the range only.
The display legs I made from 1-1/4 sq. by 18\" long aluminum.
I turned the taper on a friends CNC lathe, then finished with my small mill.
I used the D&E plan for reference only, mines more heavy duty.

Ahh  I see !   All is clear now.

That certainly  is more heavy duty than the D&E,   solid aluminum legs are certainly heavy duty.

I am still surprised at how long the cycle times were to make those feet.  Does your spindle not have very high rpm\'s making you keep the feed slowed down to keep the chip load in check?

(been working on my RF45 retrofit, got the power drawbar all working with tormach tooling, that completes everyting with the head, onto motorizing the axis now)

The Syil runs on 110 volts, about 8 amps, not much power.
I run almost everything dry, so I keep the rpm\'s down.
I did tweak the cycle time down some on the feet.

At times I use Royal quick-change tooling for er16 collets.
Great for small work

After a few misfires, I increased the spring preload slightly.
And ran the misfires through, got them all.

If there is no preload, then no force

Very nice test fire.  I\'m hoping to get back out to refinishing my bolts, but it\'s been too cold.

Very, very beautiful.  It would be cool if you would have made one of them a left handed gatling.  Then you could have fired them both at the same time.
