Sparky,
I was referring to the project of tweaking.
Have you added any machinery at your new location yet ?
Did your buddy ever get the RG-G drum working ?

My friend  never tried the drum but did get the fine tuning on the gun done and had it firing.  He has not played with it in a while now.

I sold my machines when I moved to Anderson SC back in March.  It was just too hard to move them 850 miles along with all my household stuff.    I bought a brand new RF45 mill which I am in the process of retrofitting to cnc right now.   I got the spindle upgraded with a dc drive and grade 7 bearings, 10,000 rpms and runs nice and cool.   I got the ground ballscrews, brushless servos and all the parts for the retrofit.   It should be a very capable machine.

As a temp measure I found a real nice 9x20 lathe with the stand for $275 so I grabbed it.   I plan on cnc\'ing that too.

I bought a 12x24 wooden shed for a workshop and wired it and insulated it.   Its just as big as the single car garage I had before.    Down the road, I can see full sized machines in my future, I have a small polebarn also but its a dirt floor right now.

I\'m real anxious to get back to working on the gatling gun.  There has been a lot learned about the D&E gun.   Mine is about 80% done with the bolts being the only main thing remaining along with a few finishing touches.

Its all for fun and I enjoy retrofitting the machines as well as making parts.

Glad to hear about the new grandson. My daughter and her husband just released the official word today 1/1/2014 that my wife and I are going to be Grandparents in August. First Grandchild.
As far as a build goes the first one is for me, which I\'m sure will be passed down.
As said before that\'s a nice Gatling gun group pick even if half are not in the pic.

Not sure, but little Andrew at 6 weeks may be the youngest
boy to have his own Gatling gun.

I\'m not satisfied with the elevating wheel action, ( D&E type ) , going
to make new bushings and install thrust bearings

The new thrust bearings are in.
One in a cavity on the underside of the top flange
The other , underside of elevator plate.
Makes a smooth turning wheel end to end.

Thanks Dave,  Let me know if you need any program for your mill.

The lock handles are off the mill, ready for trimming and
a little swindle finish.
