New member looking forward to my first build

I\'m getting ready to order the RG-G plans set. I have a few questions about materials. I was thinking with the high cost of brass of machining the some of the components out of 7075 T6 aluminum for my first attempt. I am a novice at best when it comes to machining and thought it would be cheaper when I make mistakes vs Brass. I researched and saw 7075 T6 is actually structurally stronger and slightly harder than Brass. I have a Enco Square column Mill and a Grizzly 10x22 Lathe both with DROs installed as well as a 6\" rotary table. Everything will be done manually. Any advice will be appreciated.  Bob

Welcome to the forum Bob,

I agree with you on the price of material, and 7075 is a good choice for non impact parts.
Many builders prefer using original materials for reproduction seasons.
Sounds like you have enough equipment.
If any doubts come up about the drawings, your probably right.
Good luck & have fun with your build.
