What has everybody been working on lately, any progress on the builds or is it vacation time?

I also got sidetracked.     Shot my first IDPA pistol match a couple weeks ago,  first time for that.    I had shot USPSA matches for quite a while but its been 7 years since any matches of any sort.   Moving south from NYS made for lots of side tracks.   I will be returning to the metal shop before too long and working on that Bruce feed magazine.   The .357 is done except for the mag and some cosmetic touches like brass nuts for the mainshaft.

Still here, check the forum every day. I have been waiting for the weather to cool off a bit before I get back in the shop.

How about Cutter?   He has been quiet lately...     If I am not mistaken, he has about 200 bolts to machine though...  that might keep him busy for a hour or two.

Sparky,

What is USPSA matches. Has that something to do with the United States Postal Service or what?

LOL     Might have originated with USPS, you never know.

USPSA    United States Practical Shooting Association           Sometimes called running and gunning.      Its a lot like police courses, tons of fun.

Used to do 50cal shoots here in Colorado but they stopped putting them on several years ago. Can’t safely shoot them here as the fire danger is too high.

Since semi retirement, too many projects and hobbies to do.  Plan on finishing my D&E this winter.  Been waiting for brass to come down so I can finish the carriage wheel hubs.   Bought some 6061 instead, maybe anodize them black, not sure yet.  Very minor things yet to do like front site, otherwise gun is done.  Also started a cub cadet 124 rebuild.  Father in law was going to junk it.  I couldn’t let that happen.  The cold weather will bring me into the shop.

Started competition pistol shooting again after a 7 yr break when I moved south.    Saying I was rusty was a understatement !      Being 7 yrs older does not help either (67 now).     Previously I shot USPSA but this time around I am shooting IDPA which although similar is a bit different.     I got back into it to get more proficient with the baby glock I bought,  a glock 27  40 cal.    Its a very small gun and tough to master.         Its coming around......   I am getting there.  Meanwhile its a LOT of fun !

I will return to the 357 gatling project before too long,  the gun is basically done and shooting well.    I have to make up that bruce feed magazine next and a few finishing touches on the gun like fancy nuts for the mainshaft ends.
