Using CAD!

Trying to learn Fusion 360, mainly because its free. But I need to learn! Its not much, just playing around...

This is kind of addicting! Like the first time I played on the internet! I actually want to do a set of M60 semi rails, I have a pair on loan to copy.

Dave,

 Is that a muffler bearing?

I\'m joking of course, did you draw the part in 2D or make it as a solid to start with? It looks good though.

It was 2d then made it into 3d,  then added the center then the little nub. Im just trying to learn basic stuff and hope a lot falls into place. This software seems to be really easy to work with, of coarse the youtube vids are a lifesaver!

Be sure and watch the tutorials by Lars on youtube.   He works for autodesk and is a great teacher.   His videos got me up to speed fast on fusion 360.

I started with fusion last year when I did the redesign of the D&E gun.    There are some fusion pics in that D&E hybrid thread.      That bottom rail you did is damn good for just starting !     The learning curve with fusion is a lot easier than many of the other cad/cam programs I think.    Watch Lars videos and play, you will get the hang of it quickly.
