Home made aluminum Ruger mark 1 barrel
« on: January 23, 2014, 07:14:12 PM »
I have a old wore out Ruger Mark 1, I bought a Wolf spring kit, a new firing pin and retainer to try and renew it. So I decided to try and make a aluminum barrel for it. The body is 6061 1 inch od and 3/4 id aluminum tube. The actual barrel is 6061 3/4 aluminum rod. The barrel will be around 7 inches long ,drilled and sleeved with a steel barrel liner...

Im going to try and have it done next week. Ready for powder coating anyway...

Here it is, ready for sandblasting and cerakote... I going to build a muzzle brake to (theres a cap on it now) Seems to shoot good... I put a little stiffer recoil spring in it also.
