Gun Bluing set up
« on: December 21, 2014, 10:17:03 AM »

Instead of dropping a couple grand on a bluing set up, Ive decided to build my own for a couple hundred.

The tanks are 6 by 6 by 40 black iron 16 gauge sheet metal. There will be 4 tanks total. The basket you see is for tieing off small parts.

The burners consist of 1/4 ball valves, a couple of fittings and a home made venturi of a 1 inch to 3/4 reducer, going into 3/4 black iron pipe.

Just about everything can be bought from Lowes or Home Depot This is a work in progress, I will update it

Very well done!

I was more lazy and took long plastic flower-boxes for the barrels of my gun.

That would work for cold bluing, this is a hot blue set up, boiling chemicals!!!

Looking forward to seeing more of this. A friend has a parking tank about that size. Done the parking route not the hot bluing.

Again Nice Tank set up.
