Hello all. After many years of wanting to build a Gatling gun, I\'ve finally gotten around to ordering the plans and committing myself to the endeavor.
I own and operate a small part time machine shop business at my home but I work full time as a computer geek in the corporate world. I know, I know, who has time for all that right?
When your hobby becomes a business you sort a lose track of all the fun stuff that got you in to the hobby in the first place. As such I\'ve been tapering down the part time business so I can re-kindle the passion that got me in to machining in the first place.
Several years ago I built a hit & miss model engine designed by Mr. Harold Depenbusch my former Machine Shop instructor. The satisfaction and enjoyment of building something like that with your own hands does nothing but kindle pure joy in your soul!
So this is why I\'ve finally decided to take the plunge and build the Gatling Gun. It was a hard choice deciding which plan to buy. Being the history buff that I am, I ended up going with the D&E since it is seemingly a scaled down replica of the original Gatling manufactured by Colt.
I know the D&E model has some some known issues that can easily contribute to misfiring, etc., but I\'ve also seen some video of them in action and humming along as designed. With the collective help of all the experts on this board I hope to be able to overcome any problems encountered along the way.
Thank You,
