meterial for magazine base

Ok, where does everybody get the tubing for the magazine base? I cannot find 3 1/4 brass tubing anywhere.

Which plans? RGG uses 3\", The D&E I believe is even smaller

RGG, I believe my plans call for 3 1/4 od, 3\" id.

I got mine from RG-G (Paul) he sells material kits and certain pieces like that tubing. Dave has a link posted in the links section of this forum.

I got mine from onlinemetals.com. I had to call them and talk to someone that had a clue, but they did have it in stock despite what the website had listed. I used a .020 slitting saw to cut the tube in half so I could make two mag bases out of the one length.

You should recheck your plans - I built 2 guns based on the RGG plans and they are built with 3\'\' OD Tubes.

He has it right. the breech case is 3\" OD, but the mag base is 3.25 OD.

Sorry - I was thinking the breech. Just didn\'t want him to buy the wrong thing. I did use the 3\" for mag base also - just cut it a little larger than the drawing stated - works fine.

I might try that. I have extreme 3\" lying around. It would be cheaper.
