Solidworks question

Hello Everyone

I have been gearing up for this project and others, I just got into cad a week ago and chose solidworks.

I have a problem with a feature on the bolt carrier, it\'s the .090 x .150 slot around the diameter. and also the timing mark on the recoil plate seems to want to cut through instead of a .020 deep cut.

This works for me.
Create the slot as a single surface then use the trim function.
