I purchased a used 770 a few years ago and have had a lot of fun with it. Unfortunately, I have had some serious medical issue and haven\'t used it much for the last year but am getting close to making chips again. Since I am not a machinist and do not do production type stuff I can\'t give you a lot of advice. There are a number of very good Tormach groups. I would defiantly go with the TTS (Tormach Tooling System) and an automatic tool changer if doing any type of production work.
I think Tormach is a great company. I purchased my 770 used and they still provide support as if I had purchased it new. They have always answered my calls and work through any problem I have had. They provide software updates for free.
I did just recently purchase a used Rapid Turn and am going through a leaning curve but am impressed to get a CNC lathe for a thousand dollars. The one I purchased was an early model that had a problem. The guy I purchased it from contacted Tormach and they provided packaging material and paid for him to ship it back for repair and they shipped it to me all rebuilt. How could you beat that? I sure have a lot less in my Tormach setup than I had in my fishing boat :>)
