Hey guys, Paul here from the UK.


I\'ve still not progressed much in the last year, mainly due to having my GG taken from me. :-(


In the UK, depending where you live, depends on the licensing authority in charge of your firearms. I moved from one to another and had to hand in all my firearms until a new licence was issued. Now they\'ve been questioning my \'need\' for a GG.

In the UK, the two accepted reasons for a firearm are \'competition\' and \'hunting\', needless to say, I won\'t be hunting with my GG.


I need to be able to prove that I can enter competitions with my GG in order to get that authorised back to me.


Do any of you guys know any competitions I could enter once it\'s finished, so I can get my GG back? Obviously, it would need to be a postal comp.

Hi Dave, I\'m not so sure that I\'d be allowed to bring my GG into the states! Would love to come to knob creek though!


I was really hoping there would be a postal competition I could enter. I had another letter from my licensing officer yesterday saying that as there was no competitions, there was no \'good need\' for my GG and I\'d have to dispose of it. :-(


Anyone got any suggestions?

That would be terrible, only suggestion I would have is to remove the firing pins or something so it could not fire and call it a model.

Dave, A postal competition is where I\'d shoot my cards, and send them off for marking. Lots of competitions in the UK like that.

Okay, I imagine that I am very late with this, but perhaps you could start a competition. I mean all it takes is setting up rules and having the cards sent for marking. I do not know the rules involved, but we could set something up that checks all the required boxes and is not overly burdensome. Heck it could even turn into something great.

Well, lots of \'discussions\' later and my licensing officer wouldn\'t allow me to have my GG back to keep. He would however allow me to have it back to sell. I\'m trying to sell it, but really struggling. Let\'s see what happens at next years renewal!
