According to my print and text, the D&E gatling should accept .22 long rifle ammo. Working on the pan right now. The print calls for the length of the pan to be .915 inches long, but a .22 LR mikes out to be .996 long. Looked over the print to see if there was a spacer, somewhere between the bolt carrier and the barrel ring, but did not see anything.  HELP   thanks Paul

The D&E is designed for a .22 short, the long rifle is a lot longer.

The only way to get it to accept long rifle cartridges would be to redo everything from the box cam to the barrel chambers.

Yep, a redesign is needed for .22LR. In the UK, .22short aren\'t that common so I\'ve redesigned my GG for .22LR.
I increased the length of the pan, the bolt, firing pin, cams, housing and possibly other bits.
If you\'re thinking of doing a LR version, I could upload all the different component plans. Or, I have all the parts designed in CAD.

Let me know.

Yes, it would be nice to have 22lr modifications here on the site.  My DE is nearly done but I might consider it down the road.   I bought 5000 22 shorts on a sale at midway knowing the day would be coming when I would need them.  (I hope LOL)

I\'m getting new broadband fitted tomorrow so as soon as I get a moment, I\'ll fire up my laptop and upload the files.

Pmercer,
Did you get the chance to upload the long rifle files yet?
Thanks,

Bruski, the plans I uploaded are only original prints. I completely forgot to upload my modified prints. I\'m staying at the GF\'s at the moment but I\'ll note it down on my \'to do\' list when I go home next. Apologies about not getting my prints up earlier as I said I would.

Hi guys

I\'ve managed to get hold of all of my modified drawings from home for a .22LR. After tonight\'s shift, I\'m off for nearly 2 weeks so I\'ll scanning the drawings and get them posted....

As said, I\'ve got all my GG paperwork from my house now.

I\'ve scanned in the original prints and added the modified dimensions to enable .22LR. Please note, that I havent finished my build yet, so no idea it it will work. lol.
Ive got the whole GG done on CAD and everything seems to fit.
As well as redesigning for LR, I\'ve had to redesign to fit in with the UK firearms laws which are basically a minimum overal length of 24\" and minimum barrel length of 12\".
I\'m only linking through to the LR modifications at this time - they can be found here which is in the pictures section of this site.http://www.gatlinggunforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=387&p=2216#p2216

There are a few other changes needed:
Top cover: the front surface needs extending 7.9mm. The hole that the round drops through needs extending 7.9mm as well.
The barrels need to be chambered accordingly.

I\'ve asked Dave to allow STL files, and I\'ll upload them as well for those that use CAD.
