Carrier block question

Hey I have set to making my carrier block, does anyone know what Purpose the .090 slot by.150 deep serves?

The slot or groove around the carrier block provides a channel for the Ejector to run in. The Ejector is a small angle usually of brass that sweeps the extracted shell casings out through the Ejection Port cut in the Left Hand Frame Rail. The Ejector is attached to the inside of the Magazine Base above the ejection port.


Rendering is from the RGG 3-D set. I would suggest that you purchase these from Paul if you don\'t have them. They can really help explain some of the finer points.

That one threw me for a while too.  The ejector is not well documented in the plans....
