Title: Elevating plate question.

Hello all, I am past due needing to machine the elevation plate due in large part not being able to find any suitable 5/16” brass plate and was wondering if anyone has made one out of 1/4” steel? I have some on the rack and will use it if it will provide adequate stability. Also, if anyone happens to have a piece of 5/16” brass plate and needs a piece of brass breech casing tubing, top cover tubing or yoke tubing and would be interested in trading, let me know...

This may not help you if you are building the carriage, but I made mine out of 3/8 x 3/4 steel, with a 1 1/2\" diameter piece welded on for the handwheel/acme nut.

 

I also need a piece of the tubing for the magazine base, I need to remake mine at some point. Seems like I\'ll have to buy a big chunk to do so, I\'d be happy to buy a piece from you.

The magazine base material can also be rolled.

The piece I have I obtained on eBay and judging by the amount of tarnish on it it had been sitting on somebody’s rack for a very long time.
